                            Oriental approach to healing

In the East, traditional medicine, which dates back several thousands years, is based on the theory of five elements (China, Vietnam) or three doshas (India, Tibet) and on the subtle vital energy channels. The body is considered as an energy field, resulting from interactions (on different levels) of the complex energy systems.

Any disease or disorder, whether it is physical, emotional or mental, is viewed as a consequence of a loss of natural equilibrium of the body energy systems. Diagnostic in eastern medicine looks for causes of disorders and their subtle signs and traces, imprinted in the body, expressed through behaviour patterns and emotions and is less symptom-oriented. The treatment aims to re-establish the lost balance through diet, habit changes, energy manipulations and herbal medicine. Spiritual practice is considered as one of the most powerful healing remedies.
